White Dog had a busy day supervising people. She had to oversee Mark, my visiting home care nurse, who came to check up on me and to draw some blood. She always sits on my shoulder as he takes my blood pressure, temperature, and oxygen saturation readings. When he approaches with the finger pricker thing to take blood, White Dog's ears go back slightly and she watches intently to make sure I am not hurt in the process. After, if he has performed to her standards, White Dog allows the nurse to give her a belly rub.

Our friend Adam came by to begin resurfacing our fireplace with slate tiles. Again, White Dog had to put on her supervisor's cap! She wasn't sure when he started moving her toys out of the way and blocked her access to beneath the sofa but she had to admit that Adam is a craftsman and a perfectionist and that his work is above great. Knowing that, she allowed herself a brief nap in the doorway--a cool, restful spot where she could open an eye and still check on him. When he hit a stopping point for the day in the late afternoon, White Dog sighed with relief, the "boss"was exhausted! And she had yet to supervise Steve's exercise regime when he got home from work!!

Hard work can be tiring. I hope you're taking plenty of naps. Slate is so pretty! I hope you post pictures of your new fireplace. I hope they put some slate on the floor for you to lay on.

Love,

Wow - ALL that work for one little eskie? Siku, you are amazing. Sounds like you earned more than a few Siku Smiles for your hard labor. xoxo
