White Dog and Steve were in an Autumnal swoon over the roast pork and apples we had for dinner. Even the house smelled good. The season's change is obvious in lots of little ways: the swamp cooler stays silent most of the day now; the trees bend and dance in the nightly desert winds; nature's colors shift as the sun's angle gets lower in the afternoon. Best of all, the night coolness has brought White Dog back to the bed for sleeping all cuddled against our legs. Can pumpkin bread be far behind?
Yes, my dog Buddha spent the summer sleeping in the armchair down in the living room. Now the weather has cooled a bit, and he's back taking up too much room in my bed.
