"Gee, Uncle Steve, you've been missing a few days of blogging lately. I know you've been a little under the weather and we've been kind of chill, but you need to get back in the rhythm, don't you think?" asked Hazel as she yawned. 

"Oh, Hazel, it's become very difficult for me to even see a computer screen. Have you noticed that my eyes have taken on a distinctly red tinge? Unfortunately, my cold has morphed into conjunctivitis. I've never had any problems with my eyes before, and they are red, itchy and irritated. That's why I went to Urgent Care this morning. I now have antibiotic drops that I must apply every four hours. More importantly, I need to stay home from work because conjunctivitis is very contagious. I need to be very careful around all of you dear ones as well. Dogs can catch this and I don't want any of you to feel as nasty as I feel."

"Well, at least we get to have you at home full time." Hazel said as her eyes closed for her post-lunch nap.
