Zsofia, Bailey, Opal, Roman, Diva and Lilly were completely amazed this evening. We had visitors in the house for the first time in five years and not just any visitors, but dear friends we haven't seen in many, many years, and a new friend who we only met tonight. Tim, his daughter Juliana (our new friend) and Tim's sister Colette came by to visit and have some pizza with us.

"Dad, this is just awesome. They all love me and let me sit next to them," Diva exclaimed. Not to be upstaged, Lilly snuggled up to everyone. Zsofia and Bailey gave doggie kisses. Roman provided a little excitement as he rubbed his head against everyone's legs. Opal was the bashful one as she hung out mostly in the doorway, but did make quick darting visits throughout the evening.

"I kind of like having visitors, but I'm not used to being in the middle of the action," said Opal shyly after everyone said goodnight. "Maybe I'll spend more time in the living room next time." You can do whatever you feel, sweet Opal, I said gently. There is no pressure to be outgoing like your siblings. You've always been the timid one, and that's perfectly fine. Everyone respects your feelings.

I'm also sad to let everyone know that Sue's sister, Nancy, passed away today, just two weeks after we lost Sue. Rest in peace, dear Nancy. You were loved.

  1. How lovely to have so many friends together, new and old. Though we send sympathy on your loss of Sue's dear sister, may she rest well.
It may be difficult, but we hope you will have a good and blessed Thanksgiving, Steve, as there is much to give thanks for in spite of the hardships you are facing.

    Be blessed, Ann and June

  2. I'm happy that you had a good visit with friends. I can imagine what a shock it was for the pups. Our reactive one, Hachi, would not have handled it so well!
