"I have to say, dad, I'm SO GLAD that today was a beautiful day and it didn't snow." Diva declared. "My tummy is really close to the ground and even a little snow would give me the shivers. I know everyone else would be out playing and romping in the white stuff, but now I can enjoy the outdoors and even have fun on our walk tonight without slipping and sliding on ice and slush. Even better, you didn't need to shovel!"
"Oh, Miss Diva, you are our Little Mary Sunshine, quite literally. Momma used to hate walking on ice, too. That's one of the reasons we moved here to Albuquerque so long ago. Thanks for your gentle words and kind thoughts. Enjoy the sunshine today."
Aww, we are glad you can enjoy being outside without your tummy getting cold, Diva. And what a sweet memory of your Momma it provided. XO
ReplyDeleteTeka agrees about the snow stuff, but fortunately the parents here lucked into a job at ASU around 1977 and we spent the "early years" with Teka in a totally NO Snow environment. But she has become a snow and rain fan since we moved to Richmond, where if we don't like the weather we wait a couple of hours for it to change.
ReplyDeleteThat is a real bummer on a camp out without a strong tent pole.
