White Dog was a living demonstration of the Doppler Effect as her distant barking at the back of the yard increased in volume when she streaked toward the house and barreled through the dog door inside. Her momentum carried her up onto the couch to the window where she smashed her face into the screen just in time to greet Jim, the mailman.
