White Dog experienced her first tamale making party. We cleared space and set up tables in the living room. Gregg and Candace (a her brother, Francis, a tamale virgin) made the masa. Anne and Mike joined us. We spent the afternoon rolling pork and beef tamales, drinking wine, and catching up on gossip. White Dog watched in fascination from the unused chairs and remembered her party manners (until we began cleanup when it was OK to ask for a nibble!) This Christmas Eve's table will feature what we all agree are our best efforts ever!
