White Dog and I spent more than an hour this afternoon handcuffed together in the house. While removing a burr I caused her to yelp in pain and run off. She would not come when I called and continued to ignore the command even after I had gone to her to apologize. I would direct "Come!"; White Dog would turn her back to me; I would get her and carry her to my chair while repeating "Come!". After several rounds of this this, White Dog was leashed and forced to stay by my side--a reminder of her training from my point of view; a punishment for nothing in hers.
