White Dog was uncomfortable in the afternoon heat. She sprawled on the bed in the path of the oscillating fan but could not get comfy. She sat next to me as I worked on the beginnings of a painting but after a brief time left, panting. When the swamp cooler kicked on, you could see White Dog's instant relief as the cool air wafted over her. With a contented sigh, she laid down in the air stream and took a nap.
