White Dog is by no means a cat lover but she immediately went into caring mode when Richard called to ask if we had a pet carrier so that he could transport Bob, his cat, to the vet. Seems Richard discovered Bob lying outside the door with one leg unable to move. When Richard ran over and got the carrier, White Dog gave him reassuring nuzzles that everything would be OK. Later, Richard called to say Bob had broken his pelvis in some kind of fall. The vet recommended immobilization for 6-8 weeks to see if it would mend itself; the alternative being very expensive surgery. White Dog said a prayer for Bob's speedy, complete recovery and for Richard's peace of mind (he was an emotional wreck). We followed her example with prayers of our own.

Oh my gosh - that is terrible. How will he be able to keep a cat immobile for that long?? Our cat wouldn't stay still for an hour following her broken leg.......
