White Dog came bursting through the dog door, tore through the house, and leapt onto her window perch where she barked excitedly and wagged her entire body. It was dark already so I could not see what agitated her so, but was very impressed when, seconds later, Steve walked through the door (home from teaching). He had parked on the street so I had no warning of the car's lights or the sound of the engine in the driveway. White Dog was so proud of her "detection skills" that she ran around the room several times before launching herself into Steve's arms.
