White Dog's favorite story from Jesse's birthday party came from Jesse's best friend. She told us that when Jesse first met us that she talked constantly about "the couple with the adorable American Eskimo baby." and "What attentive black eyes and beautiful face the Eskimo baby had." and "What a lovely fitting native name they had researched and chosen." The friend heard so much about this wonderful girl that she one day begged Jesse to stop focusing on her being an "Eskimo" and to respect the child enough to use her name. It was only then that Jesse's friend became aware that this amazing baby that we had adopted , Siku Marie, the American Eskimo, was not a human infant! White Dog laughed and laughed.

A friend of ours told us that they are often in their backyard and sometimes their neighbor overhears them talking. One day the neighbor was chatting with them and asked about their child who was often talked about in their overheard conversations. Heehee, they said "what child?" Turned out the neighbor thought they had a human baby, only to be surprised the "person" they talked about was their doggie.
Teehee! That's funny but then again, like Teddy said, we are almost human. So it is really hard to tell the difference.
