White Dog and Steve read the instruction booklet and were ready to start! Steve received a meat grinder attachment for our mixer as a birthday present and this was to be the maiden run of creating his own freshly ground and personally spiced meat. White Dog supervised as Steve washed and dried the chuck roast and carved off the excess fat. He cut the meat into cubes and offered a "pre-" sample to her. Then they began the first grinding, producing a ground beef that was beautifully red and juicy looking (and tasty according to White Dog). During the second grinding Steve added Mexican oregano, red chile flakes, cumin, and garlic...the smell was fabulous. Quickly shaped into patties and seared on the grill, the burgers were lovingly placed on buns prepared with avocadoes, tomatoes, onions and yellow squash...the result was so divine that White Dog even ate the veggies (sans onion, of course)! After, the grinder was easy to thoroughly take apart and clean (a big plus)!...we will be doing this often.
