Setember 1, 2009
White Dog spent most of the day moping and watching out of the window for Steve. It was Steve's first night of class which meant that he didn't come home for lunch and that we wouldn't see him until after class (about 9pm). It made for an unbelievably long day for all of us. When White Dog finally spotted the car backing up the driveway, she went wild in greeting--throwing herself on her back for a belly rub, jumping in Steve's lap, bringing ball over to be thrown, and just laying across Steve wiggling in total happiness. Although he was exhausted, Steve could not resist White Dog's enthusiasm and was soon smiling and wrestling...the day's loneliness forgotten.
