White Dog resigned herself to a long day until Steve came home; it was his teaching night. So White Dog was sort of mopey and in foul spirits. She dragged Curly into the room and laid on top of the plushie refusing to play with me; then White Dog grabbed Curly and angrily shook the poor toy as if it were Curly's fault that things weren't better. Her mood changed instantly when I told her "Adam is walking up the drive!" His surprise visit gave her someone who rubbed her belly, played "Get It!" and offered a change of routine. When he left, White Dog sunk again into her melancholy and sat staring out of the window. Late in the afternoon, she started excitedly barking to announce that Gordon was stopping by. We were glad to see our friend who had recently gotten out of the hospital. It was an unexpected respite from the evening of waiting for Steve's return and White Dog took the opportunity to again receive rubs and cuddles. When she heard Steve pull up, finally, White Dog hurried to the couch and positioned herself so she looked pathetically forgotten (head hanging, big eyes, thumping tail). She milked Steve for sympathy over her long day of waiting and gave me a sharp look when I told him the reality of our visitor filled day.

Well Siku, visitors are great, but its not quite the same as having Dad home, is it? Prinnie dons her best "moppy dog" look just before I get home too, even though she may have had a fun-filled day. It doesn't matter though, because nothing is better than to have your family all together!!

Nice try!
