White Dog has been building a memorial to her beloved elm tree ever since she was told that it was dying and would need to be removed when the solar panels are installed on our roof. There is a special stack of branches and twigs that the winds have blown from the tree, each rescued and lovingly placed by White Dog. When Jesse moved White Dog's safe haven chair to vacuum, she found a small stash of yellow leaves stored under it. Large chunks of bark have found a sanctuary next to the tomato planters. These are clearly not meant for trading; White Dog hordes these treasures--hiding them instead of exchanging them for treats. I know when the cutting down actually begins that I will have to lock down the dog door and close the blinds, it will be painful for her to witness.

Are you really sure it has to go? Poor White Dog - hope you have a way to cheer her up.

Oh, Siku, I hope you'll be ok when the tree is gone. Maybe your Mom and Dad will plant a new tree for you.:)

Love,

It's so strange what dogs become attached to. Perhaps Mom will give you a peanut butter filled kong to take your mind off the tree. Stop by and meet Chloe, our Eskie, sometime. She got her haircut this year! shhh. You are a beautiful girl,Siku! The Gang @ Dog Blog for Five Dogs
