White Dog stares out of the window at another grey day and sighs. In New Mexico we are used to 360 days a year of blue skies so multiple gloomy ones tend to send us into a funk. For a while she took a hopeful attitude and went in the yard to scout out Spring Earth works projects but quickly came back inside uninspired. There is a small pile of favorite toys laying in the middle of the floor, each brought out to play and then reconsidered. Even the new JB Pets Catalog is unviewed on the sofa; White Dog didn't even want to check out the "Mega Dog Treats Sale!" advertised on its cover. "At least our friends to the West are getting rain and to the North they have snow," she said. "It is like we are in place with no time of day or weather!" "Let's escape!" I proposed. We rewatched the Smilebox video from Jake and Fergi and started to smile...again. Then we had an extra treat, cuddled on the bed and popped the original Dr. Dolittle (the musical with Rex Harrison) into the DVD. In no time we were singing along "if I could talk to the animals, learn their languages..."

It's been way too gloomy here for too long too. We had a tiny peek of the sun this afternoon and we hardly recognized it. At least it sounds like you aren't experiencing the worst of that weather we keep hearing about. Stay safe.

Sounds like the perfect way to spend an afternoon, cuddles with your Mommy and watching a movie together. The rain continues to come. The weather people said it might go away for the weekend. I hope they're right.:)

Awww. We're glad our little Smilebox could bring some smiles to a gloomy day. Now you'll have to use your imagination and know that Miss Fergi has been seen .... CARRYING THAT BONE AROUND! Yep. It's true. She knows how to make the best out of a gray cloudy day, too!

Here comes the sun... (somewhere)

hey Siku Marie,

I know how you feel. First I lived in four days and nights of heavy fog, which was actually way cool. But these past two days have been damp and dreary and the snow is almost all gone. I am actually missing the sunshine. But you sure had a great remedy, being cuddled with your mom and watching the rocken' Dr. Dolittle! I am jealous!

It would be great if humans could talk to us in our own language. It would sure make it easier for us to train them!

Suka

p.s. thanks for your concern! I am back home safe and barked to my human that I will do my best to stop running off when she unchains me!

Haven't seen Dr. Doolittle in a long time. Mom is trying to find us Best of Show. :)

Sister loves rex harrison. she doesn't know why! she thinks his voice is wonderful. She said she's only seen the movie once- and that was years ago- and only half way through for a music class. However, she got sick and didn't get to see the next half during the next class because she had to stay home from school!
