White Dog was so excited when Chef Richard walked in moments before Steve got home for lunch. You could read the joy in her eyes as she licked her lips and thought, "Score! Richard is going to make us something fabulous for lunch today! We won't have to eat leftovers!" But the higher we fly...the farther we fall, as they say. Richard had just come from lunch with another friend and was here to borrow our computer printer for a while. He was not going to cook! White Dog could not believe it! She put her head in his lap. She looked imploringly at the kitchen. She did her best dead dog impersonation. Then Steve walked in and we popped the leftovers in the microwave to warm up. It was a sad day in Mudville for White Dog; she could barely force down a few bites of chicken and some stir fried beef. It was a small consolation when Richard promised to come over later in the week to cook coq au vin!

If White Dog doesn't want those leftovers, we will take them right away.

hey Siku Marie,

I am sad to read that Chef Richard was unable to cook a fantastic lunch for you. You did your furry best though. He must be a strong fella to not give in to your pretty pleading face.

Siku Marie, you were upset over chicken and stir fried beef?! My human is a vegetarian, so I would give my left paw for some leftover chicken and stir fried beef! OK, maybe not my left paw...perhaps a claw clipping.

Suka

p.s. I love when you drop by my blog and leave me such heartwarming, kind messages! You are a super friend and I am so furry glad I met you!

Hi Siku - We LOVE leftovers. Mom always makes extra of whatever she's cooking so there would be some for us.

Hugs and yips,

Well, chicken and beef stir fry don't sound too bad - that isn't something that the kitties ever get so they would be very jealous! But having a chef come around really would get my hopes up too!

I hate left overs too. I think we need to tell our hoomans that we have such sensitive palate to eat the same kind of food twice in a row.

My mom visits me more often. I think she misses me a lot.

Poor baby - but then again, how many eskies have their own personal chef??? You definitely are a special girl. No doubt your Richard will make you a wonderful meal this weekend!
