White Dog barked a warning to our neighbor at the same time I heard the squeal of brakes locking up. The "Cat" lady across the street was about halfway backed out of her driveway when some speedster tried to cut around behind. He slammed on his brakes and she blew her horn. Next thing White Dog and I knew, Speedy had blocked Cat Lady's exit and was getting out of his car. White Dog was amazed at the amount of anger his language and body movement conveyed and she asked me why. "Perhaps he is in a hurry somewhere and felt that she should have been watching more closely," I guessed. "But if he is in a hurry why is he wasting all this time screaming and throwing a temper tantrum?" I shrugged because I am bewildered by exactly that same thought every time I see one of these scenes play out on the road or in the grocery line. White Dog continued, "Humans always seem like they are in a rush to do everything and they end up being unhappy and unfulfilled because they miss all the interesting stuff along the way." I nodded. "For example," White Dog said, "if that guy would have paused long enough to let our neighbor finish backing out he might have noticed the hawk in the tree across the street...or that the cars form a pattern along the curb: red, silver, silver, red, silver, silver, black...or that the sun is really warm if you tilt your face up into it. Instead now he is all frazzled and he upset our neighbor and he is late for whatever was so important. Does that make any sense?" I have to admit, when the White Dog is right, she is right!

Siku, you are a smart girl. If only humans could be so smart....

hey Siku,

Wonderful observation and such wisdom from a sweet doggy! That sounds like a very scary incident to witness. Sometimes humans are scary because you never know what will set one off. How I wish humans would take your wise advice and just relax and be kind and be Zen - go with the flow of life! Time is so precious, why waste it on such negative energy that accomplishes nothing?

Glad you and your mom are safe!

Suka

p.s. I agree with you, our doggy way is much better than the human way! :->

We're sorry we missed your Gotcha Day. It looks like you had a great one. You're soo right about the screamy person. We feel the same way about people who have to "take" drugs or drink tons of booze to get "High". We get our highs by watching the squirrels and the birdies.

Siku, you are SO right. People are in such a rush, all the time. Human...they need to slow down.

I am thankful that I read this particular post...I had a similar encounter today. I was not the one who caused the inconvenience but I still regret blowing my top and probably hurting another person's feelings.

Siku, you have the wisdom of a very old Eskie, yet the spunk of a tender heart! Too bad our hurried world of scurried fools don'tt stop and see what you see. More Siku's in the world would make it a much better place!!

Exactly! Well put!

You are wise Siku! Humans should listen to you. They do waste a lot of time on unimportant tantrums and miss out on so many things.

Your Siku Marie Eskie doll is on its way! Mommie dropped it off at the post office today. We hope you like it.
