White Dog and I witnessed a miracle in action today. Last night we read about a poor Eskie boy in LA Animal Control death row who needed to be adopted by Wednesday or else... He is a beautiful boy with the second most heart melting eyes ever (White Dog's being the first) and we decided to try to help save him...cannot be more specific as White Dog has sworn us to secrecy for now.

Anyway, this morning we called and were told that someone would have to physically travel to Lancaster twice...once to pay for his neutering and a few days later to pick him up. The wonderful women of Dugan's Barkery (Prinnie's moms) had already volunteered to drive up from Murieta (a 4 hr. round trip) and we could not ask them to do that twice in 3 days. We put out a call for help to all of you in this amazing wonderful community. Sure enough, as always you were there with help, connections, support, and ultimately solutions. Two Special Wires are not the only special members of that family...through their Moma we met dogisgodinreverse.blogspot.com who is an angel in disguise! She took time off of work to drive the hour and half to jump through the necessary bureaucratic hoops to save this Eskie's life. Check out her blog for pictures.

White Dog, Steve and I cannot express our thanks but share our joyous hearts that you--our family--helped make a difference to this little guy. We will be sure he know on his Gotcha Day the story of the entire community who so wanted him to live and to have a forever home. In the humblest gratitude, we are proud to be a part of this.

Last Minute Update: Just as Kari was about to make the long drive we got a phone call from Ms. Liz at the Eskie Board Forum who was letting her assistant (who lives in Lancaster) go home early on the condition SHE stop by Animal Control to do what was needed for the rescue! Kari was spared 3 hours on the road AND the little guy is saved! Again, we are amazed and oh so thankful for all of these caring souls!

Does this mean what I think? You were able to find someone to go to the shelter to physically?

Can't wait to see pics. Seems the site you referred to hasn't quite posted pics yet. Looking forward to them....

So glad the young boy is saved- and hope that the older one finds a home soon too. If we had a yard, we'd have seriously considered it.

My BFF: I know I will meet your brother before you, but I promise you that I will be kind to him and tell him how amazingly special you and your family are. I will tell him that you and your family cared so deeply and opened your hearts to save him. And love him. And give him his forever home. I will tell him that he is safe. I will tell him that I love you, and that he will become my brother too.

Just 4 more wake-ups and we will be paw in paw - all of us...again.

Love,
Prinnie
