White Dog paced up and down the hallway before she came into the office blowing air through her cheeks, totally upset but trying hard to breathe deep and be cool. She look at me and huffed and the looked toward the living room. Now I watched enough Lassie episodes as a kid to know that look means, "follow me," so of course I did. White Dog marched right around the corner and sat resoundingly in front of "my" chair--hers by default when I am not in it--and heard one more exasperated puff before the sound of Quinn's snoring drowned her out! Quinn, the new guy, low man on the totem pole, last Eskie in the pack, had the audacity to be curled up cozily on the Seat of Power! And he was so comfortable with his dastardly deed that he was sound asleep! Just in case I hadn't figured out the problem, White Dog tapped me on the leg and looked at the offender as she huffed again. To her credit, she did not growl or force him out, but it was clear that White Dog wanted Quinn removed, pronto! With that Quinn opened big sleepy eyes and peered at us. "Everybody! Out of the momma chair," I said as I took the "helm." And then everyone got salmon treats and pets to ease the pain.
