White Dog sometimes thinks that the OTHER White Dog is just plumb loco; we think it is wonderful that Quinn is beginning to feel safe and secure enough that his playful personality is emerging. As has been well documented many times, Quinn is a total chowhound, fixated on food (any food) and totally lacking in dignified party manners. While he is learning, White Dog still thinks of him as a barbarian. Quinn has developed a very endearing ritual around feeding time that leaves White Dog shaking her head in disbelief...He watches the preparations intently and gets more and more excited as things progress (tail wags, happy little grunts, prancing). When Steve picks up his bowl to "plate" his meal, the Other White Dog rushes outside (presumably for a potty break) and then comes tearing back into the kitchen, often so fast that he wipes out and goes sliding across the floor. Then, with the happiest look imaginable he does a little dance around Steve (it looks like he is being driven by his wagging tail). When Steve picks up the bowl to place it on the floor, Quinn executes a perfect sit and wait until the second the bowl contacts terra firma...then his snout plunges into his meal. Meanwhile White Dog sits in the living room on the leather chair where she can see the kitchen activities calmly and expectantly waiting to be served.

Wow my BFF - Nobody, and I mean NO BODY in my house waits that calmly in another room at feeding time. We are, unfortunately, more like your brother in our excitement and anticipation of good eats!!!
Love,
Prinnie
Siku, Quinn sounds like Sierra. Sierra even looks for food during our walks. Mommy and Daddy say that I shouldn't make fun of her since I don't know what it is to live on the streets. Still, she's a savage when it comes to food!
hey Siku Marie and Quinn,
I wish you had a video of Quinn's ritual because it sounds amazing! What a fun personality Quinn is expressing!
Siku Marie, you are such a good, patient pup! You and Quinn seem to compliment each other!
Suka
He's such a contrast with Siku. I'm so glad Quinn is fitting perfectly in your household.
Love,
Irene
That is so nice....to wait so calmly....
Souds as though Quinn is developing his very own little personality. It must be so good to see him emerging into a confident little man from what he was. Bless him.. Hugs GJ xx
Every pup has their own methods. We are working to correct Ciara who has a very bad habit of yapping away for her food bowl. She now has to wait even if it means five or six attempts to put the bowl down. She must be quiet and sitting. And now she is also having to wait to be released to eat. Of course, once the release is given, she chows down lickety split.
Woos - Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
It is the best when they come out of their shell all the way.
Wish you could get video of Quinn doing this, sounds pretty funny.
