White Dog Ranch Day 3, afternoon. White Dog was ready to post her blog recapping the day's events because this was Technology Time at the Ranch. Quinn was preparing to harvest eggplants and gather eggs from his chickens on Farmville, the game he plays on Facebook. Dragon was already composing in his head the email he was going to send to his humans.

None of this occurred, however, because as White Dog placed her paws on the keyboard to begin, our Internet provider went down...and stayed down until this after nine this morning (July 11th)! Egads! Disaster of all disasters! Michael came rushing upstairs from his computer in his room wondering. The White Dogs and guest of the Ranch were forced to go outside on the pleasantly shady deck to watch birds and butterflies. After a brief time of my telling stories of B.C. America (before computers) Michael wandered off followed by White Dog, The Other White Dog, and Dragon Brat to all take boredom naps.

Steve and I enjoyed the techno-break, especially since our VOIP telephone also did not work...the silence was very pleasant except for the house theme of the night (asked every 15 minutes by Michael), "Is it up yet?" To distract the grumbling Ranchers, we took a trip over to the neighborhood ice cream place and learned that all of Albuquerque was handicapped by ComCast's crash (can't say how many times while we were there, we heard: what? cash only tonight? bummer!). Tummies full and disappointed that all were cut off from the world wide web, everyone decided to turn in early.

Woo - a day without the internet. How would our hu-dad function?

P.S. - Actually, we are quite used to struggling for internet considering where we live. No broadband options via wire of any sort.

Hey, it could have been worse, there could have been no birds out side to watch!

My mom also enjoys time without internet. We spend it wrestling and playing a lot so I like it too.

I hope you had a lovely weekend!

Maxie

Love that *B.C. America*. How did we ever live without computers?

Picking up a public signal at Grandma’s in New Jersey was a crapshoot for Mom. The internet signal strength was nil for the most part and only worked sitting at the edge of the garage with the door open. It was in the 90s coupled with 90% humidity.

Can't imagine life without blogs.
