White Dog Ranch. Day 4. Sundays are all about food at White Dog Ranch. usually we go out for brunch with everyone from the ranch (two- and four-legged) after bike riding and chasing bunnies. Today varied from the schedule a little in that Steve heated up the chuck wagon and cooked in...cheese omelette's, buttery sourdough toast, sausage, and peanut butter bananas. It was a leisurely morning that eased us into grocery shopping for the week. White Dog helped unload the bags of meats and veggies as Quinn supervised my unpacking. Ranch guest Dragon, since he is a flight risk, was restricted to helping after everything was securely inside and the doors shut. All were excited to discover that sushi was on the lunch menu...a light healthy meal that took into account the day's muggy heat. White Dog enjoys the salmon roll best and The Other White Dog is quite a fan of Taka Maki (even the seaweed wrapper). Dragon Brat tried several and spit them out (thank you TOWD for cleanup) before he found the tiny baby shrimp in the won ton boats were to his liking. After a refreshing pre-dinner nap White Dog, Quinn and Dragon convened around the bbq grill in anticipation of Steve's famous pork loin. Alas! Misfortune stalked us a second day in a row, but technology was not to blame this time...instead it was a lack of propane to fire the cooker. There was muttering and threats but when Steve served his alternative choice of buttery pan fried sole stuffed with clams and paired with cinnamon carrots...the mutiny was averted.

Sounds like you had a delicious feast today.:) Quinn is brave. I've never tried the seaweed but Mommy and Daddy say it's yummy.
