White Dog should know by now that "I am bored!" is a magic incantation to turn a humdrum day into something special. Today was no exception. The words were barely out of her mouth when Jesse, White Dog's childhood trainer called to ask if she could stop by with some surprise visitors. Sure, why not? White Dog yawned as she went to wake her brother from his post breakfast nap.

Jesse arrived with Brenna, her daughter, who we have not seen in ages (who as a younger girl shared water bowls and dog beds with White Dog during sleepovers). Jesse also had with her Daisy, White Dog's best friend from puppy training through agility classes, and Daisy's Maltese sister, Poppy who is still a ball of endless energy. Poppy loved meeting The Other White Dog but Daisy was absolutely smitten with our white fluffy boy. She followed him around and they sniffed and hung out for the entire time the "girls" visited. White Dog politely spent some time with her black poodle mix buddy and then subtly climbed up on my shoulder to allow TOWD a chance to get to know Daisy. Both White Dog and TOWD watched for a long time out of the window after Jesse and crew drove away...

But they barely had time for an afternoon nap before Gregg and Candace and Dragon, the Honorary White Dog, pulled in the drive to bring Michael home from volunteering at the shelter. Of course, they stayed and Dragon made himself right at home. Both WD and TOWD were glad to see him...and even gladder when the humans decided to go for Moroccan food (aka Lamb shanks) for dinner! White Dog couldn't push us out of the door fast enough so that we would go, eat and return with a "doggie bag" filled with the shanks and trimmings! Now, as I type White Dog lies next to me gnawing her prize and chuckling over the magic words, "I am bored...!" Quinn? With full belly and after many ear scratches, he is asleep in his closet den.

P.S. AUCTION TIME! JD & Max, those wild and crazy schnauzer boys, have come up with the most PAWESOME idea we've seen in a long time! They are setting up an auction house to help Team Shelby! So start looking around your place for all those items you'd like to donate, and also keep in mind Christmas is coming up too!
