White Dog and Quinn dragged Steve out of bed later than usual, but still early considering our late night at last night's Madame Butterfly, opera season finale. They went to the Park but were relatively gentle on their "Master."
A quick breakfast upon return and then it was big house project day! After living in this house for 13 years now and hating it every day, we finally found replacement lighting for the old, center-of-the room, single bulb, totally inadequate kitchen fixture. BUT before we installed it, it was decided (by me, the momma) that we would need to take down the old one, plaster to make the hole fit the new fixture, and then paint the ceiling. My call for supervisors was answered by two fluffy white dogs who just happen to live here.

White Dog was perfectly happy to do her el jeffe impersonation city worker style, lying on the couch, napping, with occasional checks on the progress. The Other White Dog took his duties very serious and followed at Steve's heels until the worker was forced to put up a gate across the kitchen entry.

By dinner both white dogs had approved of the priming and painting job, so Steve was allowed to clean up. The light installation will take place tomorrow. BUT White Dog pointed out, the kitchen was in way too much disarray to prepare a dinner meal. Quinn quickly concurred and started the "where to carry out" discussion. No one complained about chef salads and thick chunky beef vegetable soup...capped off with peanut butter cookies!

I think you probably give some very good advise to the humans on their projects!

Nothing like a little canine supervision to get the job done right!

OK. First we have to set the scene. We're pawing this out as a PBS televised recording of Armida plays in the background. (Some of those creatures are scary looking.) Part of Great Performances at the Met.

Fine. As in Italian. The End.

It's over.

We can focus now.

(How's that for a big digression? We knew you'd understand.)

So. About that painting. Good thing the ceiling is white. And you are White Dogs. Moma's experience is that more paint spatters down than stays up.

(We love the bows and accolades. Sorry. We digress again.)

(Have you seen it? It's good!)

Anyhow. Now. To the most important part. Peanut butter cookies. That's sounds PERFECT to accompany all the salads. We think we may still have some in the pantry. Hana's Hearts to be specific.

Check your email!

Hope your Sunday is going well. Ours is!
