White Dog loves September in Albuquerque because the air is filled with the smell of roasting chiles...and it is cool enough finally to sleep up on the bed with us...and the long afternoon shadows tease and invite us all to stop to admire the filtering light magically turning everything golden. But White Dog especially likes September because the lines at the paletas shop are shorter and for some reason, the pistachio ice cream tastes sweeter.

We are SO looking foward to cooler weather around here. Mom says it won't get cooler for at least another couple months. Dang it!
