White Dog looked at The Other White Dog in amazement. I looked at her and said, "Nice job, mentor, I think you've created a monster!" Steve just calmly kept eating.

Quinn, the Quiet...Quinn, the Mellow...Quinn, the Go-With-The-Flow Guy was having a temper tantrum. Over the lunch menu. Neither of the White Dogs really eats lunch, they beg bits and bites or eat a few treats as Steve and I enjoy the fact that he works close enough to come home mid-day for his meal. TOWD is not a dog cookie or biscuit eater (except for the cheese crackers he eats at bedtime) nor does he like the "processed" kinds of meaty treats. His favorite is actual, not pressed, jerky...we usually keep a large bag on the counter.

Well, we are out. And the humans were eating lentil soup (ick!). Steve offered WD and TOWD their night time crackers which WD daintily took and ate; Quinn took the bite-sized bit, turned his head and spit! the cracker on the carpet. My "Hey, that's not very nice" meant instead of spitting he simply let them drop off his lips. Next, Steve tried the pressed lamb and rice sticks (a White Dog favorite); Quinn refused to even take one and he kicked Steve on the leg very purposefully indicating his dissatisfaction. To make his point clearer, he went and sat at the counter where the jerky usually "lives." Steve went out and sat on the floor petting him as he explained that he would have to make another choice today. Quinn shook him off and moved out of reach while looking pointedly at the counter. Steve put his kibble bowl over by where the White Fluffy Brat was pouting but the dish was nosed behind the door and left disdainfully untouched.

"Maybe cream cheese will appease him..." I started before stopping myself. "How about, this is what we have, Big Boy, if it doesn't suit your taste then you will just have to go hungry." I finished as I considered that we would never allow Michael to act like this. He tried the pitiful look but saw White Dog shaking her head...he knew then that he had overplayed his hand and that a quick exit was his only hope to keep some dignity.
