White Dog looked up from her (actually my) cheese and toast, "The show is This Friday? The show? The one with your art? This is the week Hansel's mom and Prinnie's family are going to be here! OMD! Shouldn't we be cleaning or getting ready...mom at least bake a cake..."
"Whoa, Little One! Stop and breathe. See, Quinn is not all wound up." I replied stroking her coat. "Don't pet me! Get the brush out, do a good job, I need to look my best!"
"We will take care of grooming later, but now as soon as we finish breakfast, Dad needs volunteers to help him go and hang fliers about the show." Before I finished, The OTHER White Dog was at the door, smiling and tail wagging. "And I thought you were Mr. Mellow," I said as WD pushed him out of the way to get to the car first. "What about finishing breakfast?" I asked as I chugged the last of my coffee and hurried out.
Out into the overly warm Autumn day we went, first hanging Show Announcements (everywhere as Quinn complained), then heading to Home Depot for supplies needed for the gallery space. In-between we dropped Michael off to volunteer at the Rescue and shared ice cream from the I SCREAM shop next to where the show is being held (we had stopped to drop off fliers).
We briefly paused back home and left WD bossing TOWD about cleaning up his sleeping space as we ran out for paper supplies (plates, cups and all) for the Opening Night refreshments (AND a special treat of duck jerky for two very deserving and hardworking pups). After picking up groceries we returned to find both White Dogs fast asleep on their favorite furniture. "What happened to the get ready urgency," I questioned White Dog.
"We figured you and dad had it under control and that we best save our energies for hosting the guests," was her reply. "Um, excuse me," Quinn said as he stifled a yawn and stretched, "is that duck jerky on the counter?"

This sounds like fun! Good luck!
I'll bet you're going to have a great time!
Only a few more days - hope it all goes superbly well.

Ummm. May we suggest that you take flyers to the (is this considered advertising???? we don't mean to break any rules here .... maybe we'll change up the name just a wee bit) La Quinn's Inn and Sweets Midtown (just north of ya?) Seems they are the BEST Dog Friendly Inn (according to LOTS and LOTS of reviews) AND they are SOLD OUT the weekend of your show. We're guessing there may be a lot of dog and kitty lovers there (meaning Lovers of the Arts of Dog and Kitty People).
Just a suggestion :)
