White Dog and Quinn were grateful for the normalcy of their regular Sunday trip to the Park. In a game of hide-and-seek with Steve's camera, both showed great imagination in their choices of hiding spots; find them if you make the photos larger.

Michael discovered when he went to the shelter to volunteer, that because of budget cuts (to focus more money on food and essentials for the dogs and cats), that Watermelon Ranch will close their adoption center at the PetSmart and will only have their facility out in the country. He is crushed but we have discussed our willingness to drive the extra distance so that he continue his work with the rescue...hopefully he will make the right decision even though it will require him to get up earlier on Sunday.

Later, Dragon (the Honorary White Dog) and his parents came over to meet AWD, Nuka, and SAWD, Puff. HWD and Nuka has a great time tail wagging and talking smack to each other but Dragon just did NOT understand why Nuka didn't take up his barked challenges when her back was turned. Puff, meanwhile stayed in her crate. We left the door open and ignored her as we visited and enjoyed a Middle Eastern feast for lunch. We eventually noticed that she had crept to the hallway and was watching; but if anyone actually looked at her, she bolted back to the crate.

Mid-afternoon Puff, dashed out of the dog door for a necessary break. After a while, Steve carried her back in and sat her in the hallway, where she remained cautiously watching. Slowly she slunk over to him and just stood shaking. Puff put her paws up on the couch seemingly asking to come up. He put her on the couch next to him and White Dog. We all carefully pretended she wasn't there. She stayed, at first cowering into the sofa's corner but gradually lying on the cushion (but ready to take off). At the end of the afternoon, Quinn slept across the doorway; Dragon on the hearth blanket; Nuka on the floor in the middle of the room; White Dog on Steve's right side and Puff restlessly half napped on his left. None of the humans dared to breathe too loudly lest the moment's magic be broken...then Puff jerked up with a start and ran to her crate...but for a instant....

What a wonderful Sunday for all! Siku Marie and Quinn, I am so furry happy you had your normal morning in the park. It is so important to keep your routine and your time with you dad. And Nuka, what a doll! I am so furry proud of what a trooper she is! She seems to be adjusting amazingly well, and what a fun addition to the family!

Puff, welcome! I am so furry sorry I missed your first post. I am glad you arrived safely and I am so excited and furry happy to read how you are quietly adjusting to your new forever life. You are a beautiful pup, and I know how scared you must feel, but please know my paws are crossed for you that you feel comfort and secure in your Heart, and I continuously send you much love and support as you adapt to your new life.

We are so grateful that you have taken Puff into your home, and that she has other WD's for her new buddies. It was our daddy's pleasure to fly with Steve to Kansas to get her. Love from Frostie, Pixie and Star.

We definitely had to bigify the photos to find them - great game players.

We can't help but think of Puff the Magic Dragon when we hear the name Puff, and here we have a visitor Dragon and some talk of magic. Very small but very encouraging steps taken by SAWD - looks like she has taken a liking to Steve. All in due time.

Wow !!! We have been away from blogging for a while, but it's wonderful that you now have your own dog park.

Mom is still in Michigan with Lauren, Dave and the Little One and she's bragging that she left home for another man - my little human nephew, Cayden.

Nova was supposed to take over my blog, but so far, he has been very negligent.
We had better work on that.

Hugs and yips,
Cappy and Ollie
