December 27, 2010

White Dog hopes that everyone had a Christmas filled with wonder, special surprises, treats, and lots of love (and for some of you waiting so longingly...snow)! The White Dog Army is just about fully recuperated from the late nights and rich foods. They have sampled all of the new yummies they received as presents and stare sadly at the bags now sitting on the counter (back from Quinn's reach...seems he has been talked into being the new surfer expert for the entire Army)! Puff, our girl with the kleptomania issues, has stolen everypups' new toys at least once and carried them out to her treasure stash in the yard...Steve just goes out and brings them back in...and slowly they go out again. Nuka, the fashionista, has tried on all thirteen new outfits she received from Santa (Steve is putting together a slideshow so she can share). White Dog oversaw Michael writing his first thank you notes ever...it was odd hearing my mother's words, "You can either thank people for taking the time and making the effort to remember you with a gift...or you can return it!" We have almost finished party leftovers (great and easy lunches and dinners)...and Steve returns to the office tomorrow.

This afternoon, we are all enjoying the down time, and just reading/napping/cuddling together. White Dog and I have completed the random drawing for prizes from her 2,000 Post/ 6th Barkday Celebration. We had great fun and hope everyone will enjoy their surprises. I will need the winners to email me with their addresses (sehismith@aol.com) and will also need those who won donations to let me know which charity they would like to gift. Once again we want to thank all for their marvelous support of our comment-a-thon and most especially for helping us to raise $80.00 for Canine Cancer Research. (And loving friends added to the pot as part of their Christmas present to Steve, White Dog and myself)! This is an important cause to us, as you know, because we have seen too many suffer and have lost too many to this monster. Cancer.Touches.Everyone...we must never forget or relax our fight.
The winners:
Hansel from The World of Hansel
Linda
Ginger Jasper...let us know where you would like your $10.00 donation sent.
Brian

Oooh, we know the answer - Sam's dog in the movie is a rescue dog which he makes sure to mention. Well, that is what we have heard at least - we don't know if there is another connection.

Anyway, congrats to all the winners - it is so awesome that there will be so many donations! And it is so awesome that the whole White Dog Army had such a great time for what most of them was their first Christmas with you - it had to be so much fun to see their faces!! And we are glad that all of you had a wonderful time!!
