White Dog was left in charge as we gathered up Puff, SAWD, and headed to the Vet for her followup bronchitis checkup. Since SAWD is still recovering from heartworms, her pulmonary system is compromised and Dr. Julia is keeping very close watch on the bronchitis. Our little one has been to the vet so often since she joined us that she, like White Dog, is developing a dislike for the place. But when she dug in her feet and refused to enter the building, Steve simply lifted her up and carried her in.

Her lungs sounded clearer but we are keeping her on both the antibiotic and the steroid until next week, when we will go back for yet another followup. The concern is that the congestion clear completely and not become pneumonia.

Back in the car, sitting in White Dog's console "throne" between Steve and I, our little miss seemed to enjoy the privilege of being our sole passenger. SAWD almost looked defiant when I mentioned that she should NOT tell White Dog that she had ridden in the choice spot.

Since Steve was using his lunch hour for the vet visit, we pulled into Sonic for a quick bite. This was SAWD's introduction to the car picnic ritual and she watched with great interest as Steve ordered chicken sandwiches and tater tots. The servers on roller skates earned a bark and when they came to our window, Puff was wagging and ready. "Please don't tell the others about this special treat," Steve begged as he handed her bits of grilled chicken and tots. "They will be very upset." She grunted through a mouthful of chicken bliss.

We were barely in the door before being swarmed by White Dog, Quinn, and Nuka who wanted to check out their sister. And she didn't even have her harness off before yipping out, "I am SO fine, I got to sit in the throne AND we had a picnic!" Three white fluffy heads turned in unison to stare at me in disbelief...and I reached for the uber bribery bag, the chicken jerky!

It sounds like Puff is getting better?:) We agree, the best part of going to the vet is the treats afterwards.:) We're sure all the White Dogs were sniffing the goodness of Sonic on Puff.:)

That's great news that Piff is getting better! Keeping my paws that the congestion clears completely!

& I'm sure the Army dogs won't appreciate being left out on all those great deals that Puff got! They deserve the chicken jerky after staying home. Hehe.

So good to hear that Puff is doing better and so wise to take the conservative approach with the meds.

Your trip to Sonic is a lot like when Grandma takes the little ones to Chick-Fil-A or McD's and hopes they won't tell the big sister:)

Glad to hear that things are going a little better over there. Enough with all of these sickies, huh?

Well dear Puff, I am so glad you were richly rewarded for your bravery at the v-e-t office. Even though it's ever so impawtant that you stay on top of your health right now, it's still not very fun!!

I am even more delighted to hear that your feast included chicken and NOT broccoli!! I was horrified, HORRIFIED, when I read the army is given broccoli! Oh the horrors! The horrors!! THE HORRORS!!

Stay strong Puff - HoneyBuzz

Well, that does sound like encouraging news about Puff's health. We will keep purring and praying!

That Sonic car picnic sure sounds fun (and we are glad you had that uber bribery bag handy afterwards ... thank goodness)!

Chicken jerky, hmmm? We've been using duck jerky to earn some brownie points with our pack, and it seems to be working. One day at a time.

Hoping all goes well. We sure understand.

(We'll be talking to the vet tomorrow ... Bella's congestion has turned green. It may be time to switch antibiotics ... to the one specific to mycoplasma ... or whatever it is. With that, we may be starting on it, too. Maybe that means more jerky. We hope so.)

Much love. Always.
