White Dog and the rest of the White Dog Army was startled during their post-breakfast nap when Steve dropped in for a quick 20 second visit while out running work errands. At first they thought he was home early to stay and swarmed him with "Welcome Home" love; when he said he was here only briefly, they blocked the door. When White Dog pointed out that this was his ultra late teaching night, Quinn, Nuka, and Puff barked their protest to the retreating car.

Gordon's early evening visit was distracting until 7pm when Puff and Nuka rudely got into their greet dad positions at the window and door mat and ignored our guest. (This is the time Steve normally arrives). Michael's solitary dinner and his school night bed preparations made AWD and SAWD mad; they accused him of being a traitor and not waiting like the rest of us. Quinn stepped in at Michael's defense and explained that his dinner and sleep routine needed to be constant..."Yeah, what about US?" Nuka wailed. Mind you, Thursdays are a day filled with extra treats because I know how long the wait is.

As White Dog and I sat visiting blogs, we witnessed an odd, hurried, parade go by, lead by TOWD who was followed by Puff and then by Nuka. Something was up and as I turned to my trusted General White Dog to share my suspicions, I saw her fluffy tail heading down the hall after the group.

I didn't have to go far to discover that the chicken jerky bag, left on my side table in the living room was missing. And when I looked out at the deck the entire Army was clustered around the now torn open bag taking dinner into their own hands.

Did I mention that I really hate Late Night Thursday?
