White Dog recognizes that she and the rest of The White Dog Army are truly blessed. Her Gotcha Day was a celebration of all that is wonderful in life...family, friends, love, security. She was feted and indulged and recognized as a vital part of our family. She went to bed (our bed) knowing that she was very special and very loved.
She asks as you all savor the last of the Valentine's treats and smile at your cards full of well wishes that you remember those who have no one, who are abandoned and scared and in need of a second chance. Send a prayer to the Universe that these fur sisters and brothers will have the opportunity to know even a fraction of our good fortune that follows us through every single day.
And to all our friends involved in rescue...You Rock! Thanks.

What a special video. Mommy has teary eyes from seeing all those cute pups. We hope for a day when there won't be any shelters and every furry one will be in a loving home.
Love,
Teddy Bear
We sure do hope everyone finds their forever homes, so deserving they are!
What a wonderful message and video. Thanks for sharing. I am a rescue dog, too. My paws are crossed that some day all of us will have homes.

hey White Dog Army,
So sad to see so many unwanted pets, but thank you for taking the time to get the word out and posting the video. I know all of us here wish for a time when all pets have love and homes.
We are so thrilled that Siku Marie had such a wonderful and loving Gotcha Day! The White Dog Army is so pawsome and we are so glad to be a part of your lives!

p.s. I want my piece of cake and ice cream now, please! ;->
What a great post! You are such an inspiration!

Oh how we wish we could RUN TO all those pups - such sad faces that could be so happy with so little an effort from others.
We too are very blessed.

Very powerful video and yes I join in wishing that there can be loving homes found and indeed no more harm and neglect. I am so glad that you had a good day and that you are indeed a happy family.. Hugs GJ xx
Beth here and I'm crying....I just have the hardest time trying to understand how anyone could mistreat an animal. How many people get puppies and forget they turn into dogs. Or kittens into cats.... It is heartbreaking....
Hello friends, we are so sorry we missed the big day. Mom has been so tired, she misses a lot of blog stuff lately. But we are TRYING to pull her together. we love you all and hope it was the best day ever.
Okay..I can't watch the video. I started but the first pup in was a Weim and my mom does Weim rescue and will cry. Rescue has been SO busy lately. Mom can't get over how heartless people can be.
Hope you all had a great V-day as well. :)
Your contrast between the life of White Dog and the rescues in cages really hit me hard. I give my dogs the best lives that I possibly can but so many dogs don't have a person to do that.
I agree that our friends who volunteer for rescues rock!
we are now savoring the day after valentines treats that we got on clearance :)

Thanks for bringing this to us on this love-filled holiday. There are so many deserving of love that won't get it. It's heartwrenching. Like Teddy Bear, I hope there will come a day when shelters area thing of he past...
Wonderful post!
Until they all have homes,
Stella
