White Dog, The Other White Dog, Another White Dog, and Still Another White Dog were glad to hear that Steve's late night of teaching would not be as late as normal. The term had finished last week and tonight was merely an in-service training seminar for the staff. Their joy at his relatively early return home quickly turned to concern when they noticed how green he looked and how feverishly warm his skin was. He was fine hours ago, when he came home for lunch, but now something was definitely wrong.
They did not need him to tell us, "I am feeling soooo icky! I think I have the stomach flu!" The White Dogs pushed him onto the couch and cuddled around him while I wrapped and put away the red beans and rice with spicy sausage that had been the dinner plan and quickly opened a can of chicken noodle soup. He had to be coaxed to eat even that and I KNOW I saw him feeding the pups the chunks of chicken from it.
Fortunately, his body has not reacted violently to food and Steve is sort of dozing under the protective gaze of The Army. White Dog is curled against his back on the couch. Quinn stands watch with his head resting on the cushion by Steve's hand. Nuka and Puff are stretched out on the floor beneath him. I can feel their concern and care as they watch and know Steve would get no better healing at Mayo Clinic. I just hope this is 12 hour bug that passes quickly.
BY THE WAY: Please do not forget to join the blog community in supporting efforts to help Richie, Ronnii, and their mom. For details about the auction, the kissing booth (where you can get a smooch from the Blogworld's prettiest and handsomest), or the bake sale (with downloadable goodies recipes visit http://pawsofpeace.blogspot.com . Times are tough but a contribution of a $1 for a recipe or a kiss from your favorite studmuffin goes along way to helping a family in need. And if you cannot contribute, please at least spread the word.

Paws crossed for Steve to be feeling better already. We have been hearing that the flu is having a resurgence, not surprising with the weird weather Mother nature keeps passing around. Hope the weekend is better for all.

I hope that Steve is better already!!! With that kind of nursing army, he should have bounced back already!
Oh no! We hope that Dad Steve feels better real soon. With all of our purrs and prayers, and the ministrations of the White Dog Army, we are confident that he'll be on the mend in no time.
Thank you so much for your continued friendship, and for your wonderful words of comfort and encouragement when our Maggie went to the Bridge. We love you guys!
Sorry to hear he is sick. I sure do hope he is feeling better now.
There really is nothing better than having the pups surround you with their comfort. I had a very busy weekend and didn't see this post until today. I'm sorry to hear Steve was sick...hopefully it will pass soon. This kind of bug usually does. The last time I was in bed sick, both kiddos stayed in the bed with me - all day. I was pretty impressed with their staying power!
