White Dog , The Other White Dog, Another White Dog, and Still Another White Dog were disappointed that our usual Sunday routine was interrupted. Poor Honorary White Dog, Dragon, has come down with some heavy congestion and has an enlarged liver. The little guy is on heavy antibiotics and must change his eating habits significantly. He will be retested in several weeks to note the progress of the liver; sooner for the congestion. Candace joked that in their family it was "like papa, like papa's baby boy" as far as congestion, which Gregg is still fighting. Please send both woofs of healing comfort. We are still leery about exposing Puff to anything lung-related and Quinn was still fighting a mild pancreatitis reaction (probably from the overload of meatloaf the other night). So we decided that we would take White Dog and Dragon and Sen-je for a brief walk in the Park and then visit our town's best and most knowledgeable dog specialty store. The shop features every type of alternative, healthy food and treat imaginable and the owners helped walk Gregg and Candace through a leaner and lower-fat diet for Dragon. White Dog got to sample buffalo chews and rabbit with apples and ginger biscuits. Of course, we picked up treats to take home to the others. Dragon is not yet keen on the idea of sweet potato chips instead of buffalo but in time, hopefully he will come to accept his new more delicate cuisine. Sen-ge wanted to know why HE also had to eat healthier but was happy to learn that as a puppy he still needed a higher fat intake. After, the three pups were more than glad to curl up in Pumpkin and nap while Gregg and Candace feted us with dim sum to celebrate Steve's new journey. It was a delightful meal and of course, we brought out some taro root chicken to share with the car canines. When we got home the White Dog Army swarmed White Dog to smell where she had been. They were a bit jealous that the Park had put down a fresh layer of manure and grass seed and that White Dog got to prance through it (although Steve kept her from rolling)! The momentary attitude passed when TOWD, AWD and SAWD got to bury their faces in the bag from the Dog Store and choose a treat to sample. Hopefully next week things will be healthier and we can resume our Sunday adventure and feasting.

Paws crossed for this to be a short issue for Dragon. We know with your help and his good parents, he will be on the road to recovery in no time. Now we think sweet potato treats are wonderful but we don't think we have had the luxury of buffalo:)

Have a good week.

Oh my. Healing vibes are going all which direction! We guess there is some advantage to all of these mixed up winds.

So. Go outside and catch ours. We've already gathered yours. And soon, everyone should be back the way we all want and need to be. EVERYONE!

Much love to all,

Resume feasting? It sounds like it went pretty well despite the, er, setbacks!
I hope everything comes back well for little Dragon. Congestion is no fun at all. Here's to good health!
