Given as a gift so many years ago when we first moved to New Mexico, Steve and I (there were no White Dogs yet) spent many nights out on the mesa or on the mountain watching the meteors and the Milky Way. Sadly in a way, the area has grown and become built up so it is no longer an easy 5-minute trip we can make with hot mugs of coffee. Those dark incredible skies still fill our horizon but now we must travel to get away from the city's glow. White Dog and I agreed that we would try to remember to bring the telescope with us more often on our adventures.
In the spirit of our telescopic find and a reminder of how incredible our little corner of the Universe truly is, please enjoy this beautiful video time lapse of the Milky Way, filmed by Terje Sorgjerd between April 4-11 of this year. Sorgjerd was on El Teide.Spain´s highest mountain which is considered one of the best places in the world to photograph the stars (also the location of Teide Observatories, considered to be one of the world´s best observatories). Upon seeing this, White Dog insists that we go into the Wilderness soon so that she can see the Milky Way for herself.

hey White Dog Army,
What a co-ink-ee-dink! Just last night my human was waxing poetic about how she hasn't pulled out her astronomy books in ages and misses it. But a telescope, pawesome! That is something my human has never possessed, but hopes to some day. I think you pups ought to go out and enjoy the amazing, incredible night sky, and bring a few duck jerky treats and your blankies and make a fun night of it!
Siku Marie, you are such a good pup to help your mom and dad out with cleaning the closet. I bet it was a fun adventure, and I am sure they appreciated not only your help, but your wonderful company!
Unfortunately my human's computer is messing up and we could not watch the video, so we will be back for that.

Spring cleaning can be fun.:) Especially when you find old treasures and things you thought were lost. What a beautiful video. Thank you so much for sharing with us. We hope the WDA can go the the Wilderness to use the telescope.:)

That video is amazing. It really puts things into perspective, doesn't it? So beautiful. And, yes, I need to throw out a bunch of stuff, too. Where does it all come from??
Dear Siku Marie: Please pass this message on to your pawrents from me and my Mom.
We are most grateful you donated money to flood relief through the Red Cross. You are all most kind and we want to say Thank You!
We took some time to look at the Aurora Borealis video and it was wonderful. My Mom says she used to see those in person when she was a kid (very infrequently) but they are a thrill any way you look at them.
Again, our thanks to you and your family,
Mom, Stella, and Zkhat
we feel your 1000sf pain! I wish we had 1000sf and a yard :)

We had a similar closet to yours when we lived in Maine. We started pulling everything out and decided to have a garage sale. That 1st one was so successful, that we had 2 more on the next 2 weekends. We made over 2 thousand dollars - all the moving money we needed and ended up with far less that needed to be moved! Good luck with the cleaning - it's no small task.
