White Dog, The Other White Dog, Another White Dog, and Still Another White Dog turned their heads in bewildered unison as Michael read the email that we were all staring at and asked, "Geesh, how are you going to respond to THAT?"

It was from one of Siku's oldest Eskie and blogging friends and it was a plea from a mutual friend in California:

Hello everyone:
Some of Anne dogs are being released to homes after this weekend. Anne's home was foreclosed upon today. I am going to Porterville this weekend, to gather up dogs and need to send them out to homes ASAP. Some are show dogs, others are pets. Most are minis, although there are a few standards. One (YoYo) is a blind male...Most of the pet dogs are older. They just need loving care...

Anne is blind, cannot hold down food, and can no longer walk. Her kidneys have failed and she is on dialysis...All of the dogs have been abused (physically and mentally) by her son. They are a mess (underweight, flea-ridden, matted, fearful). They will need time to get back into shape, and lots of love. All will need to be revaccinated. Anne is heartbroken by all of this. She cannot believe that her babies have been treated so poorly within the past 16 months, since she was first hospitalized.

Please contact me ASAP if you have space, or know of someone who can take on a dog to foster. I have little room at my house, so will need to send dogs out quickly. Heart Bandits is filled up. Time is of the essence!

I'll send a list of dogs out to anyone who contacts me. Please do so by email, and include phone numbers, so I can call you within the next few days. If you notice someone whose name is not on this list, please go ahead and pass on this email to other Eskie lovers.

"How do we respond to that," White Dog repeated...and my heart swelled with pride as The White Dog Army responded as one voice..."Why, we say...Welcome YoYo!"

We are trying to work out the details of trying to get this boy from Northern California to Albuquerque. Our sticking point seems to be Phoenix (Falcon Field Mesa) to near Albuquerque. If you or anyone you know might be able to help please let us know in the comments with your email and we will get in touch with you. Thanks.

P.S. Quiz answers tomorrow.

Why are we not surprised? We just saw your comment at The Thundering Herd and hurried over to see what was happening. Wish we lived closer to that area so we could help with the transport. YoYo has no idea what wonderful days are in his future. We love you all so much for your wonderful loving hearts.

hey White Dog Army,

What a tragic, heartbreaking story. We are so sad to read of the predicament of the animals, and of Anne. Our prayers and love go out to Anne and to all of the pups that every one of them finds a loving forever home.

I am so proud to know you, White Dog Army, and your humans, for all the love and generosity you show. Our prayers are with you as you bring YoYo into your lives. We know with the Power of the Paws that it will happen. Good luck, and fingers and paws crossed!

See...this is what happens when I get behind in reading blogs! There was a way to get YoYo to PHX? Why didn't you email me? I just heard about the transport this weekend, and volunteered to drive a section in N AZ to help out. Would have been easier if I could have started in PHX :-)

PS.... You are wonderful for opening your home and hearts to YoYo!

Casper (and Pals),
No, homes, neither foster or adopters, have not been found for 12 of the original 14 dogs rescued. Seems all of the rescues are full up. It will just break my heart if Sue cannot place some of them ASAP and they get taken by animal control and PTS! She has already been cited for them but is begging for a chance to home them before they are taken. Anyone who can help...
