White Dog and I share one of those "sixth senses" when things at our house suddenly get quiet, too quiet. It prompts us to seek each other out and then check out each of the members of the White Dog Army and Michael to make sure nothing is amiss. Sometimes our spidey sense turns up one of the pups in the middle of mischief or Michael covertly trying to "fix" a spill or accidental mess.

We get a little more concerned when we cannot see at least one of the boys, Quinn or YoYoMa. Their struggles to become comfortable with each other have caused some issues and we try very hard to always be at a point where one of us can intervene if needed. Both are trying very hard but setbacks happen...backward steps that we would rather avoid.

That is why I got a little nervous this evening when YAWD, who usually camps out next to me, was out of sight. White Dog came down from her perch at my "Where's Yo?" and went into the yard to look. Steve sought TOWD in his sleeping area and in the bathroom (a favorite haunt) and did not see him. I looked on the front porch and felt the knot of stress loosen. Both White Dog and Steve joined me staring out of the doorway at this small wondrous though ephemeral, step of brotherly trust:

That's a happy sight :)
When we can't see the dogs, we always expect the worse...usually digging up the yard or stealing stuff out of the garage. It's nice to find them behaving every once in awhile.

Yes, I know those familiar "too quiet" moments. What a blessing this one turned out to be. :)

Love those kind of moments. Savor them. They are the best!

We so love the sight of the two WDA boys sleeping next to each other.:) They are getting there.:)

Yeah, whenever we wander out of sight, Mom and Dad always have the "where's your dog?" conversation (they always try to pawn us off on the other - it's a running joke). Rarely are we doing anything bad, but since Abby used to have Puppy Moments, Mom still wonders when she's out of sight. Oh, and we really like hanging out with Mom and Dad, so they worry when we aren't.

hey White Dog Army,

Yay! I am so proud of YoYoMa and Quinn! What a wonderful sight, and a great first step in trust and bonding. Way to go, pups!

My human also gets nervous when she can't see or hear one of us, so she knows the feeling of the tummy knot well.

Glad it turned out to be such a happy story.

Ahhhh, bet that was a magical moment for you. With both being to rest so comfortably, definitely a good sign of progress.

Ah, we understand those "too quiet" moments, too. How wonderful to find that a brotherly nap was the reason behind it. :)
