White Dog knows that by now everyone is tired of turkey leftovers (YoYoMa interjects: tired of turkey? Is that even possible?)...has had enough marketing of Christmas specials...and is a little bored of grown men throwing pigs around (oh, sorry, Nuka tells me that is a pigSKIN being tossed).

So put the thinking caps on, shake off the tryptophane stupor, and help put a good spin on the season of giving. The comment that can correctly answer the White Dog Army Post Thanksgiving Weekend Challenge wins a donation to the rescue of their choice.

Ready?

The Saturday following Thanksgiving is one of the five highest days of pizza consumption throughout the year. What are the other four?

Da-da-da-da-da-dada.....

P.S. The WDA did NOT get pizza...Steve and Michael made a healthy zucchini casserole instead (at least there was cheese)!

hey White Dog Army,

I could never get tired of Christmas specials! Especially since they are only available for such a small part of the year. I wish I could see them. But, living in a house that has had no TV for years, I never get to experience the wonderful Christmas specials and movies that my human grew up with.

Anyway - great contest! But again, having no TV in my life I really have no idea what dates would be pizza dates. But, I will take a guess based on having observed humans:

1. Superbowl Sunday
2. World Series - final game(?)
3. Rose Bowl
4. Oscars (Academy Awards)

No particular order, just guessing.

So, you have a contest about pizza yet you did not get pizza?! How is that fair?! Not fair at all!

Suka

p.s. Yes, we feel your energy! Thank you!! <3

My daddy made leftover turkey casserole and it was yummy, no pizza for us either.

Wow - great question. We remember reading somewhere that the pizza delivery in D.C. always goes up when the Pentagon is planning some action. Interesting, huh?

Anyway, we know the Super Bowl has to be one of the other days. That one is easy. I would think New Years (and maybe New Years Eve both, so I will add both making that choices 3 and 4).

The fifth one has us really stumped. No other sports day seems as universal as the Super Bowl. We thought the Fourth of July, but people picnic then, just like Labor Day and Memorial Day. We thought of college graduation day, but not sure that counts as a day. (Actually, the hu-dad said the night before exams, but that is still not a single day).

So, let's go with Halloween. Parents are busy and trick and treaters are preparing for a candy fest, so maybe pizzas before trick or treaters go out? That will be our fifth day guess.

Now for the really unfair part - we live so far out, there is no such thing as pizza delivery to our house. How is that for unfair?

That one is too tough for me, I only thought of the Super Bowl. Oh well, I'll find out when the smart ones come along!

We had too many leftovers to enjoy pizza, but we had many longing thoughts of it!

Hm. I didn't get any turkey. And leftovers? What leftovers? I didn't get to eat any leftovers.

As to your pizza contest, I was so stumped, I took a peek on the internet. So, I won't guess, but at least I know the answers :-) even though I don't get to eat pizza and turkey.

Our guesses for the other four are...

Super Bowl Sunday
New Year's Eve
New Year's Day
Halloween (this last one is just a wild guess...)

I spent Black Friday the same way you did, many, many snoozes!

But we don't care about the big pizza days because to US, any day is a great pizza day!
