White Dog and The White Dog Army ask for your help. We are firm believers in the notion that no one can do everything, but everyone can do something…and that is why we encourage you to support the Crossed Paws All in the Name of Love Auction. The WDA knows times are tough and everyone is watching their pennies but even a little bit will go a long way to help a blog family in need…and to save a life.

Please read, share, and do something to help with the auction! The auction will firstly raise some money to add to the donations that have already been pouring in for The Houston Pittie Pack (who lost everything) and secondly, in honor the memory of sweet Shelby, (who sadly lost her life in the tragic fire) the money aid another bait dog who so desperately needs help…just as Shelby needed help all those months ago.

This is Ava, only about 18 months old, who was rescued by the wonderful people at Noah's Arks Rescue in Chester, SC. The WDA truly wants to strap on battle armor and go after the humans she trusted who so let her down; but we know a better use of that energy will be to work toward healing this poor girl and helping give her a second chance.

Poor Ava's face has been shredded to the point that a large part of it is completely missing. Her sinus cavities have punctures and her throat is torn. Her entire little body show the ravages of the attacks from the fighting dogs who were being trained to kill another dog. She is emaciated from starvation. Yet through it all, Ava only wants to be loved. She never stops wagging her tail and wanting to show that love, even in the face of the excruciating pain that she is in. This beautiful spirit reminds us so much of beautiful Shelby. We cannot think of a better way tribute than to help Ava. After all, if it wasn't for sweet Shelby, Crossed Paws would not even exist!

The auction will open on 30th January and will close one week later on 6th February.

So - we need your help! Crossed Paws is only a success because of Blogville! Do you have something you can donate? Can you spread the word about the auction? Do you have any birthdays coming up that you need to buy for - why shop when you can bid?! Everyone can help - and your help makes such a difference!

If you have any items to donate please e-mail a short description plus a photo to 'crossed-paws@gmx.com' We also ask for your help in promoting this auction as much as you can!

Of course, the WDA has already donated FOUR luscious pounds (two full purple bags) of the most primo duck jerky on the planet. We know MANY of you already are drooling at the thought and those who have not yet held this mighty delight on the tongue have such a thrill in store. Spread the word…spread the Love!

First, thank you for putting the word out. Second, what kinds of things are they looking for donations? Anything in particular?

What a beautiful girl Ava is. 24 Paws Crossed for her. (Having a hard time with the right words), but she is in our prayers.

With love and prayers going out to little Ava, I want to say that I will be glad to make some donations of items to auction in the next few days. Do you want them to come to you, WDA?

Thanks for putting this up.

mom heart broke for poor Ava...and then she wanted to throttle the people that did that...

Firstly there are not enough words to say what we feel. That poor sweet darling whose picture made the tears flow here. I so hope they can help her feel better and to get her the home she so needs full of love.. I will donate for sure and will get back to you later on that. Of course there is no doubt about us bidding, whateverwe can to help. Poor darling.. Hugs GJ xx

Awww, you have AVA's picture too. This is really disheartening. What mean people could do.

I hope Ava will be okay.

And we will keep our paws crossed for the others.

Huggies and Cheese,

Haopee

Oh my...dog fighting just makes me cringe. I don't see how anyone could ever do that. Poor Ava, I am glad that she is with a rescue now and will never be put in harms way again.
