White Dog was tagged by her friend Nola, of
Dachshund Nola to answer the following questions. Since Tuesday is her Gotcha
Day White Dog has declared the entire week will be focused on her, so she alone
will answer the questions (the White Dog Army has graciously agreed… thanks to
bribery and threats). Thank you Nola! Now here we go!
1. Describe yourself in 7 words: white, commanding, floofy, sophisticated, worldly, philosophical and compassionate… (Puff: She left out “bossy”)
1. Describe yourself in 7 words: white, commanding, floofy, sophisticated, worldly, philosophical and compassionate… (Puff: She left out “bossy”)
2. What keeps you up at night? If momma can’t
sleep or if one of the White Dog Army is sick or restless I stay on alert. If
there are sirens or loud booms that scare me awake, I need to be held before I
can rest again…(YoYoMa: If I make the tiniest crunching gnawing noises nomming
a bone in the night, WD wakes up and doesn’t go back to sleep until I stop and
if I start again, she growls).
3. Who would you like to be? I truly like
being me. My life is good and I am pampered. But sometimes I wish I were more
powerful and able to fix the things that are wrong in the world, like cancer
and hatred.
4. What are you wearing right now? When you
have been gifted with the softest, silkiest furs imaginable and beautiful black
rimmed eyes, you only need to accentuate the perfection. I am wearing a simple
black collar with all my vital tag information. Oh, does it count that I am
wrapped up in the white afghan Cappy and Ollie’s mom made for me?
5. What scares you? Dogs that just run up
and want to thrust their noses where they do not belong. The trees raking
across the roof during wind storms. Thunder and fireworks and loud noises in
general. Michael when he yells… (Quinn: sometimes Michael cannot help getting
angry, it is part of his disability, but she is right, it CAN be scary)!
6. The best and worst of blogging? The best
part of blogging is sitting with Momma and talking about our post. Sometimes it
is just the two of us; sometimes the entire Army joins in. It is really special
time because we know we are sending a daily message out to an amazing family of
bloggers; so we want what we say to be genuine and real and to remind them how
very grateful we are that they choose to follow our journey.
The worst part of blogging is that momma is
not much of a photographer so sometimes I think our posts are boring compared
to those in our community who have a better eye through the lens. It helps when
dad is around to take pictures… (Nuka: but momma makes the best paintings, if
only she worked fast enough to illustrate our your blog).
7. Last website you've visited? www.2milliondogs.org The 2 MillionDogs Walk
to End Canine Cancer website; momma has begun planning the 2012 New Mexico
Walk.
8. One thing you'd change about yourself? I
guess I would try to be a bit more understanding of the baggage my brothers and
sisters brought with when they joined the WDA. They are all rescues and have
had hard times. I have had the good
fortune to be a child of privilege and no hardship so sometimes I have a difficult
time with their weird quirks…(WDA: we
were going to say we had a list for you, White Dog, but your answer is so sweet
we will just say “thanks.”)
9. Slankets or no? With my double fur coat,
I will pass. It might be the perfect choice for some of my short-haired or
hairless friends…or maybe momma who is always cold!
10. Tell us something about the dog or
person that tagged you: Nola is a world-wise dachshund (like my dad grew up
with) in Florida who has a whole bunch of siblings just like me…who is a diva,
just like me…and eats homemade food, just like me…and loves ruling her corner
of the world, because the rest of the Universe is MINE!

Oh I feel I know you so much better now. Thank You for a beautiful post!
I so enjoyed reading your answers, and you always make us smile!
Jeepers! Those are the best answers ever!
I would have a hard time sleeping too if sirens and stuff were happening, or if someone was cruching food. I know it would make me hungry. You are lucky that you have such a warm coat.

Great answers, Siku Marie. And we loved the editorial commentaries:)
Of course, we would love to see photos all the time, but we also recognize that the WDA and your Mom have a very special talent for words. Your posts always have so much meaning and are always filled with care and concern for others. Those qualities win out over a photo any day.
Woos - Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning
Oh, we want to see your mom's paintings some day! Maybe she will post a picture of one? Your words are just as descriptive, lovely, and fun as pictures and your posts are absolutely never boring!
All my years of sleeping in the city, I can sleep through anything - car alarms, trains, fireworks, etc. My mom can actually sleep through loud noises, too, and is now having trouble sleeping in this quiet suburban world we are living in ...
Your pal, Pip
Thanks for all the info! It was great!
Dachshund Nola
Its not such an easy thing to do, is it, WD? Filling out those questions, but in the end you did a great job.
Cheers,
Stella
