White Dog, Another White Dog, Still Another White Dog, Yet Another White Dog wish The Other White Dog, The Mighty Quinn (the founding member of the White Dog Army) a VERY Happy Second Gotcha Day!

This post is written by Steve for Quinn is truly his heart dog. When TOWD first came to us, Steve was very worried that he had never owned a boy dog and wasn't sure he could find a way to relate. But he didn't need to...the Universe took care of creating an instant bond between my boy and our new boy. It is to Steve that Quinn goes to seek comfort; whom he follows around no matter what Steve is doing; whom TOWD simply adores. And in reverse, it is Quinn's yip during a nightmare that wakens Steve in another room; whom Steve relies on to balm the wounds of a tough day with a lick or an obvious invitation to bury his head in the silky side; who Steve can communicate with soul-to-soul. It is a love letter to a gentle soul, wise beyond expectations, with eyes as deep as the Universe.

Happy Gotcha Day, Mighty Quinn. It’s hard to believe that you have been with us for only two years. It seems to us that you have been in our home for your entire life. We were sad that we didn’t know anything about you when you arrived, not even your previous name. All of our other white dogs came with a name, but you remain an enigma to this day. What if we could discover your name, your background, your history? All we know for sure is that you were found by the side of a road – such a mystery.

Were you living with a loving family? Did you live with someone who died? We know that you are not the type of dog to escape and run away, so how did you end up wandering around in Los Angeles? You are such a beautiful boy – who could even think to dump you off in the middle of unknown territory? We do know that you were terribly thin, only two pounds more than White Dog when you arrived at our door. You were matted, dirty and very lonely. Despite your condition, you had no fleas, ticks, or heartworm issues.

We have sometimes considered taking you to a dog psychic so that we could call you by your previous name, so that we could know how to salve your wounds, so that we could better understand you. Several people gave us sage advice about this action. They said that you are in a home full of love, have food in your bowl, and are so gentle and sweet. You have adapted to your new life, and probably don’t what to be reminded of whatever happened to you in the past.

Let the past remain in the past, my friend. We love you and know you for being Quinn. You respond well to your name. Lay at our feet knowing that you are safe, loved and will never be abandoned again.
