August 12, 2012

White Dog and Oso got a special treat after Steve's morning run with YoYoMa. Both donned their traveling harnesses and we headed out to meet Dragon and Sen-ge at the Grower's Market Park where we had heard there was going to be a folk art festival.

Puff and Nuka were not happy about being left behind but the day was already hot at 9:30am and we worry about our older girls (Puff with her pulmonary issues; Nuka with her reverse sneezing) when the temperatures climb. Quinn had once again opted to stay home and sleep so that he could maintain the vampire hours his manicness causes. YoYoMa had just returned from a 3 mile run and the idea of breakfast and a cool nap trumped art.

Turns out that we had it wrong...right park...right day...just wrong month! The Fest is NEXT month, SEPTEMBER 12 not August! oops. The humans decided that as long as the pups were out and about we would all go to our favorite hilly park with lots of shade and lingering morning coolness for a little romp in the grass.

Oso gets along well with Dragon and Sen-ge and they walked and trotted and played in the grass. White Dog ran long loping zoomies, flowing across the green, then can back to nestle in the grass beside me. She explored and did some meet-and-greets with other dogs at the park while the others in our group disappeared on their own adventure.

She and I were just beginning to be bothered by the heat and the flies when the rest of our group reappeared....Oso in Steve's arms! In response to WD's questioning bark, Candace said, "He is out of steam. Could not go another step!"

We made plans to drop the pups at home; it was now certainly too hot for any more outdoor fun. Then Gregg, Candace, Steve and I would go for brunch. Steve took White Dog and Oso into the house and stopped to check on the others and make a pit stop. In just that short of time...White Dog was still telling the others about the date mix up...this is how Steve found Oso:

Tonight Stella and I are feeling like Oso! We went to the library, took a long walk, heat is coming back after going bye-bye for a while.

Oso, we are hitting the feathers right now and here is hope tomorrow is a little cooler and we all three feel better.
