December 7, 2012

White Dog and the others were not about to waste their incredible good fortune of this weekend. We had our usual Friday-as-Saturday, and because of the quarter break Steve will also be home on Saturday and of course, on Sunday. THREE DAYS! was their joyful howl.

Of course, the other side of the coin is that starting Monday the new quarter begins and Steve will have back-to-back late nights on Monday and Tuesday, his MBA classes start Monday, and he will work all day on Saturday. But today is Friday and we have THREE WHOLE DAYS!

I went for an early morning blood draw at the lab and then Steve and I indulged in breakfast out. When we returned the White Dog Army was waiting at the door to sniff my band aid and (just as importantly) the Styrofoam box holding Steve's leftover pancakes. They all shared his breakfast remains and then were ready for the day.

The Park was completely ours as White Dog ran zoomies and YoYoMa trotted at full leash to keep up. Puff, our little old lady, did a fine job not falling behind (of course she slept all afternoon once we got home). The strollers, Nuka and Oso, got their own more sedate walk to enjoy the greenery and sniffing the grass. Poor Quinn has been plagued by the changing weather so he stayed home guarding the Ranch.

In the evening we all cuddled around the TV in the bedroom watching old Glee Christmas episodes and eating treats. Every one stalled at "lights out," postponing going to sleep with last trips out and drinks of water and nite-nite kisses. But Steve reminded them that we would have all day Saturday together, too, and suggested that sleep now meant an early tomorrow.
