White Dog and the rest of the White Dog Army made great sport of my missing voice once they realized that I wasn't truly ill. Quickly we began playing "I-can't-hear-you-momma, what did you say?" as the White Ones  tried to take gentle advantage of the fact that commands like "LEAVE IT!" came out "leave it". Of course, not a single pup, including Nuka who is deaf, missed my announcement that it was duck jerky time!

Nuka has long used the trick of turning her back on the person talking when he or she is saying something that Another White Dog does not wish to "hear" (usually something like, "Stop barking in your sleeping sister's face it is not nice.") The WDA took a quick crash course from her and I spent a lot of time looking at tails curled away from me during our daily routine today as I was politely ignored.

The only real time I got any respect was when the coughing rolled loudly out leaving me sounding wheezy at the end. At those times (more frequent as night loomed) the White Ones rushed over to watch and make sure that I was OK. Poor Puff, our oldest girl with pulmonary issues, related a bit too well for each time I had a coughing attack she sat against me and shook in sympathy.

Quinn has been fighting his own issues with midnight manic seizures the past few days and we have not yet gotten him in balance. I actually welcomed the relief of sitting up with him last night and he seemed calmer being cradled in my arms. All things happen for a reason they say. Maybe my upper respiratory issues will only last as long as The Other White Dog needs a companion to get him through the night.

And maybe I will regain my ability to communicate with a full range of tones and volumes before the WDA forgets that I AM she who must be obeyed! hahahahaha, I DO own Eskies, after all!

Yikes! This doesn't sound good. We sure do hope that your respiratory issues get solved SOON and that the other White Dog is calmed down too. Maybe right now you just need each other. Stay Calm. xoxo Chloe and LadyBug

My assistant says I have selective hearing ...only hear what I want to hear.

Hope you don't have this terrible flu going around. The humans in my family have managed to stay healthy so far ...

Your pal, Pip
