White Dog and The White Dog Army
Wonderful World Wednesday

White Dog and the rest of the Army understand that Warriors fighting the c monster often feel abandoned by the Universe and alone. Our community offers an incredible network of support as we join in the Power of the Paw and surround our embattled friends with love and hope. All of us believe truly in our hearts that when this evil disease is beaten off of the face of the earth, the world will become infinitely more wonderful.

Two very special pups we know are waging the war inside themselves with bravery, courage, and dignity. Benny, the little French Bulldog, “fights like a  Frenchie” to push back the monster. Thurber, Dragon and Sen-ge’s older lab brother, has been diagnosed with an inoperable facial tumor that is cancerous. It is to them that we dedicate tonight’s Wonderful World story.

The White Dog knows with certainty that the c monster CAN be defeated and if everyone joins the fight  that preventions and cures WILL be found. The WDA has dedicated itself to getting as many involved in as many ways possible in this mission and we are inspired by our blog family’s commitment to work toward that same goal. And when strangers, young people, are moved to pick up the banner and join the fight, it makes us cheer…

Teen donates chess winnings to Renown Institute for Cancer
Jun. 22, 2013 Written by Anna Henry  Special to the Reno Gazette Journal
What would you do if you won $1,000? Would you go on a shopping spree, plan a vacation? How about give it away? That’s what 16-year-old Kevin Chung did.

The junior from Reed High School in Sparks recently took first place in the D/under section at the local Larry Evans Memorial chess tournament in March.

He then donated his prize money to the Renown Institute for Cancer and was on-site on Tuesday to present the funds in person.

“I think that everyone should donate something to help people in need, whether it is the homeless or those with cancer,” Chung said. “It is important to give to people if you can afford it.”

Chung started out playing chess with friends but quickly moved on to more professional play as he gained experience. He enjoys the challenging and competitive aspects of chess and has plans to play in upcoming tournaments.

The teen said he enjoyed the rewarding feeling that came from making a difference in someone’s life and felt good about his contribution. “I was just trying to do the right thing,” he said. “I didn’t expect to get any recognition for what I did.”

Chung said he will not stop with this display of generosity. He hopes to continue to contribute any winnings he might receive in the future to those who are in need of help.
“I don’t need the money, so why not give it to a good cause?” he said.
Nuka sleeps outside against the oxygen kennel door and Puff sleeps against the door on the inside.

Puff update: She is set to see Dr. Julia this Friday afternoon. Today she did well although not as well as yesterday but I tell myself that there will be great days, good days, and even bad days. The pack seems to have a bit more patience today as well.

What a wonderful person Kevin Chung is. How great that he already has such a big heart at his young age.

We are purring and praying for Puff. And bless Nuka for keeping vigil with so much love and concern.

Hugs to Puff...you are so right about the C-monster. Hearing about Benny, and now also Thunder of The OP Pack...just makes our hearts very sad for our Blogger families. One day...they must find a cure for the monsters - both the C-Monster and the Seizure Monster. Our thoughts are with our brave furpals...
