White Dog grabbed my pant leg and around the clenched teeth gripping the cloth she mumbled, "Go in and put up a post, I will supervise getting things done while you are busy." I started to protest about the amount of work left to do but she would not let go. "Fine but it will have to be a quick one," I relented as I handed over my pages of lists and slid aside the storage bins and climbed over the piles of things waiting to be grouped and labeled and put into the car. The rest of the White Dog Army was out in the kitchen taste testing the banana bar edges that Steve was trimming up for our donation to the bake sale.

Tomorrow is Paws To People's HOT Dogs and Music Event and we were all in the process of gathering tents and handouts and prizes and all of the ten million things one needs for such an event. "Try to remember everything you will get to the campus tomorrow and realize you forgot," White Dog advised. "Sweet One, you are in charge now, I am going in to Blog, remember?"

I heard her trot into the kitchen and demand everyone stop nibbling and get the cookies packaged up and out to the car. "Then," she added, "let's get the prizes and the sucker game organized and don't forget to pack the signs for it in the same tote." I heard an HBO word not fitting for a Queen to be uttering and called her to me.

"I just realized I sent the Registration Table box out to the car and forgot the wrist bracelets," she said. "Honestly, momma, I don't know how you manage to keep this all organized and ready to go." "Let me share a secret, Little One. No matter how many lists I make and how organized I seem I ALWAYS am a nervous wreck before something like this. You know I won't sleep and I will fret every little detail and still something will be forgotten or not go according to plan."

"And that doesn't make you crazy," she asked. My girl is too much like me. "Of course it does. But even I reach a point where you do the best you can, throw your hands up to the Universe, and say it will be what it is."

Then you believe in the power of our mission to end cancer and other catastrophic diseases and know that you simply will not fail.
