White Dog and The White Dog Army sang a rousing chorus of welcome and thanks as the postman left the box on our front door step. "What could it be?" they all wondered and crowded around to sniff and speculate when Steve brought it in and set it on the chair.

I looked up with a raised eyebrow. "Don't know. It is for you," Steve said. I wasn't expecting anything. Suddenly, I was excited as the WDA...we all LOVE surprises, especially ones that get tails wagging and faces pressing close even before the box is opened.

It was brimming with presents...like Christmas, only during the holidays the WDA wasn't THIS deserving. We found the note tucked in with the goodies and treats.

Our amazing friends the Slimmer Pugs and their humans and kitty siblings had sent us a "Just Because" present. No particular reason, they just wanted to let us know how much they loved and appreciated us. Without a gift, that sentiment fills the heart, but tucked inside a treasure chest of goodies...we were overwhelmed with the generous care, thrilled with the thoughtfulness, and so very grateful to be blessed with such awesome Blog family to share our journey.

One of the miracles that color our lives is that we bumbled and stumbled our way into the midst of such an incredible community with such immensity of care and commitment to each other. We are humbled and honored to be a part of this collective of so many with so much spirit and nobility and love. And the Slimmers, each and every one of them, are among the best of the best.
