March 15, 2014

White Dog pushed her way up to snuggle on Steve's pillow. "Happy Birthday, Momma!" she said gently in my ear waking me in the most pleasant way. Her words brought the rest of The White Dog Army to the edges of the bed as they, too, wanted to be the first impressions of my day.

It was a plan of perfection...the one my family developed to celebrate. Michael and Steve took me out for breakfast and we returned home to share pancakes and bacon with the Army. Then the WDA harnessed up and headed out to Pumpkin, the van...we were on a two-fold mission.

We headed to the Park both for fun and to pass out fliers to other dog families about Sunday's Party in the Park. It was a lovely morning and we met lots of new friends...including a club of metal detector enthusiasts scattered across the Park looking in kind of a scavenger hunt.

Off then, to get a silly St. Pawtrick Day photo taken by the rescue Michael volunteer's for. White Dog and Bella bravely volunteered to be dressed in green accessories and Steve wore an orange beard. Then Miss Bella did a little shopping...it was time for a new harness, a WDA uniform. She chose deep purple. Oh, and WD chose dog treats, well, because, it was just that kind of day.

Back home, the White Ones gave me a very special gift...they all posed for a new family photo. And Michael shared a unicorn named "Sunny Day," his wish for my every day.

We had cake, of course Khyra! Yellow cake with fresh raspberries and whipped cream.  I am so blessed that when it came time to blow out the candles on my cake, I could think of nothing to wish for except that all creatures know even a small fraction of the wonderful life I have.

Later in the evening Steve took me to my favorite French restaurant for Roquefort steamed mussels and pommes frites...and a most wonderful time of togetherness. The White Ones greeted us at the door upon our return looking for leftovers...with no luck.

WD tells me to stop talking and to let the pictures tell the story, so I know you will see the joy and happiness and celebration that filled my day...

Thank you for all the kind thoughts and wonderful wishes. That energy most certainly went far toward helping to make my day filled with love...of friends, family, and life!
